Rothschild, a Chicago-based wealth manager, has acquired Sentinus, a nearby registered investment advisor, in a deal that brings the combined company’s assets under advisement to nearly $5 billion, according to Rothschild and its parent, private-equity firm Tin Goose.

This is Rothschild’s first acquisition. The firm, an RIA and broker-dealer, has about $4 billion in assets under advisement while Sentinus has about $1 billion, according to a spokesman.
