Founder & CEO
Frank began his career in the financial pits of the Chicago Board of Trade where he spent close to 18 years successfully trading financial futures. During his tenure as a trader he developed his own distinctive trading systems that lowered his risk while increasing his upside potential in volatile markets. He served as Chairman of the Five Year Pit committee for 8 years.
His business endeavors outside of the financial commodities market began in the late 1990’s as Frank continually looked for alternative investments to move money out of the trading environment and into diverse entities. This led to Frank developing a private investment portfolio consisting of a vast array of real estate holdings as well as a very diverse set of entrepreneurial business interests. The real estate portion of his portfolio includes apartment buildings, condominiums, residential developments, commercial warehouses, a marina, several retail centers, office parks, commercial office buildings and roughly 8,000+ acres of farms, ranches, and recreational land throughout the US. He also has spent a large amount of time placing money into a very select and diverse group of business opportunities which includes many startups he has seeded from the ground up. These opportunities are in the following fields: Ag biotech, healthcare, technology, direct marketing retail, medical device companies, automobile dealerships (with in-house financing and warranty sales), two de novo regional banks, an asset management business, a professional baseball team (AA minor league team), restaurant franchises , an energy management company, and several agribusiness operations.
Frank currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Drive-Now Auto Credit and serves on the following Boards : Optimum Financial, Pinnacle Medical Solutions, Working Person’s Enterprises, Alpine Energy Systems and is a Board Advisor to many of his other vested business entities.
Keenan joined The FSB Companies in 2012 as a Financial Analyst. Prior to joining, he completed two years of philanthropic work at a Honduran orphanage as a middle school math and English teacher. He has previous experiences as a Financial Controller and Hedge Fund Analyst.
Keenan is responsible for working alongside portfolio company management teams to help accelerate growth, enhance operational capabilities, and increase competitiveness. He is also involved in due diligence on new transactions.
He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.
Chief Operating Officer
Casey joined the FSB Companies full-time in 2017 as a Software Engineer. His first experience with FSB was through an internship, where he spent three months learning how to build web software from the ground up. These skills helped propel him into a software engineering role at Apple in California after graduating college, where he learned how very large pieces of software are developed and maintained.
He decided to return to the FSB Companies because of the rare opportunity to add measurable value to companies in a wide range of industries while working closely with people who are all experts in their field. He’s excited to bring his skillset to the team and plans to be constantly learning.
Casey graduated from The University of Notre Dame with a BS in Computer Science. He enjoys staying active, long road trips, and likes to wander when exploring new territory.
Dane joined The FSB Companies in 2018 as an Associate Accountant. Prior to joining The FSB Companies, Dane was a Personal Banker for BancorpSouth. At BancorpSouth he focused on consumer lending, led efforts to meet the responsibilities of the Community Reinvestment Act, and on-boarded new employees acquired through mergers and acquisitions.
Dane is responsible for managing the financial reporting functions of the portfolio to help increase operational performance and accelerate growth. Dane is a graduate of Northwest Community College and is currently attending the University of Memphis in pursuit of a BBA where he is majoring in accounting.
In his personal time, Dane enjoys being outdoors, playing soccer, and spending time with family.
Swayze joined The FSB Companies in 2019 as a Financial Analyst. Prior to joining The FSB Companies, Swayze worked for Sapient Consulting in Washington, DC, leading business analysis efforts for a variety of financial services firms. Swayze also traveled to the Sapient office in Bangalore, India where he spent two months training and working with the technology team there.
Swayze’s responsibilities at The FSB Companies include financial and strategic analysis for the FSB portfolio. In addition, Swayze works directly with individual portfolio companies to help enhance growth opportunities.
Swayze graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics & History and a minor in Corporate Strategy. Swayze has also passed CAIA Level 1, and is a graduate of the Investment Banking Institute.
Ben joined the FSB Companies in 2015 as the Director of Technology.
Before joining the FSB Companies, he played several leadership and consulting roles within both seed stage to Series-B startups to enterprise Fortune 500 companies in the US, Canada and China. He has led and advised teams from 5 to business lines of 2000, in both a strategic and hands-on capacity, which he believes leads to greater effectiveness. He has the opportunity to work in a variety of different industries, including financial services/investment banking, digital agency/media, telecommunications, agriculture, manufacturing and technology.
Ben joined the FSB companies due to the alignment of his passion in building high performance teams and companies with FSB's investing philosophies and values, which are heavily beneficial to early stage software companies as they search for a repeatable business model to thrive. From strategic facilitation to hands-on development, architecture, product management and DevOps, he is excited to help partner with leaders and organizations to help give them their ever best chance at success.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Ben earned a BASc in Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto. He's known his wife Esther since he was 3, enjoys reading, playing volleyball, traveling to new places, optimizing just about anything, and spending time with his two young sons.
Mandy worked at the FSB Companies from 2013 - 2019 in data visualization, marketing, UX design, and project management roles. She continues to offer her expertise in these areas particularly in Tableau, website design and SEO, and social media marketing.
She currently works full time for GoNanny, an innovative childcare start-up founded in Chicago in 2017.
Originally from Madison, WI, Mandy graduated from Wheaton College in 2005 with and has stayed in the Chicago area ever since. She enjoys the Chicago summers, the Green Bay Packers, and lives in the city with her husband.
